Set amid lush paddy fields, Alila Diwa Goa blends the best of contemporary Goan
architecture with rich cultural traditions to fashion an extraordinary experience in luxury destination travel.
High pitched roofs and wide verandahs combine with the subtle shades of teak, local red laterite stone, polished Kota stone and terrazzo flooring, open-sided walls and brass lanterns, which bestow a soft magical glow at night.
The interiors are designed to capture the Goan ethos through simple furniture with
clean lines. Rooms and suites have been designed such that they flow out towards the natural environs. The simple elegance of pale wood and cream surroundings are offset by latticed screens and luxury linens in shades of brown and russet.
The public spaces too feature classic Goan touches, such as the art installation in the Edge Bar by contemporary Goan sculptor Subodh Kerkar. Set amid Alila is a 200-room resort with
four bar/restaurants, a conference facility, a health spa, and two swimming pools.
The entire resort was built in accordance with ‘Green Globe’ environmental guidelines
focused on reducing light pollution and respecting the natural habitats of the local flora and fauna. Given the vernacular architectural style, several choices of lighting treatments, materials and fixtures were informed by local crafts. Light levels were kept at a minimum, thereby sculpting a romantic and exclusive feel.
